Let’s have a look at all the features in this Android App update:
1. Store and Product Creation
a. Store Creation

2. Android 8 (Oreo) Compatibility
a. Increased App Performance by managing Background Services when app is in Idle State.

3. On-the-spot Video Playing in Activity Feeds
a. Click on Play Icon in feeds to play the video in Lightbox
b. Swipe Down gesture in the Lightbox to close the Video
c. Click anywhere else (from Play Icon) on the Video Feed to go to Video View Page
4. Quick Video Uploading
a. Paste Youtube, Vimeo or any external video’s URL into the Status Box to upload video
b. Video uploading using My Device is now quick and doesn’t require complete form filling. You can directly select file as you click on “Video“ option in the Status Box
c. Device uploaded videos no longer require Video Processing using Task Scheduler. Videos will start playing as soon as you upload them in the app
5. Quick Content Posting from Status Box
a. When you post a status or any attachment from Status Box, you no longer need to wait and be stuck on the same screen until the status gets posted successfully
b. As soon as you hit Post Button in Status Box:
a. Feed Preview will be generated in the feeds immediately
b. Progress Bar at top of Preview Feed will be displayed
c. Till the time feed upload is in progress, you can scroll through the feeds or anywhere across the app
d. You can cancel the Status Post Request till the time it’s in progress
c. Progress Bar will also be added in the Phone Notification Bar to easily notify you about the Post’s Status
Let’s have a look at how Quick Video Uploading, Quick Content Creation and Video Play in Activity Feeds works:
6. New Material Design Based App Slideshow
a. New Slideshows include Plain Background, Icons, Title and Description
b. Colors, Icons and Texts, are all Admin Configurable
c. Old Slideshow with Configurable Background Image and Text is also available in Android Plugin Settings. Admin can decide which Slideshow to enable in app, at the time of filling app set-up form
7. Login Screen New Interface
a. Plain White Background to the Login Screen makes it look vibrant and elegant
b. “Eye Icon” to show / hide the Password
c. Overall new UI of the page enhances visibility and user experience
8. App Tour / App Walk Through
a. Visible to members when they Log into the App for the first time
b. Important sections get highlighted with circles with small description in a pop-up
c. Highlights display on Members Home Page, App Dashboard, User’s Own Profile, Other User’s Profile, Module (Album, Video, Events etc.) that a user will visit first after logging into the app
d. “App Tour” Menu in App Dashboard to start the tour again
Let’s have a quick look at the New Slideshow, Login Screen and App Tour Feature:
9. Location Auto-Detection
a. Location Auto-detection can be enabled / disabled from Admin Panel
b. If enabled, users will be asked to allow access to their current location and enable device GPS
c. Every time users open the app, their current location will be auto-updated if they have already allowed location access to the app once
d. Once location is set, it can be changed (admin configurable) from location icon in App Header
e. Members, Events, Listings and all modules’ Browse Pages (except Albums, Articles and Videos) in the app will have the results from closest to farthest distance from your current location
10. Map View in Multiple Listing Types and Members Page
a. Multiple Listing Types (MLT) Module and Members Page have Map View available in the app
b. As a user accesses Map View, users will be pointed to his current location in the map along with nearby results
c. If there are no nearby results available, then user will be pointed to the first result available in the Map
d. Clicking on any result in MLT or Members Page will open a pop-up with required details like Name, Photo, Category, Location etc.
11. Two View Types on Multiple Listing Types Module Browse Pages
a. Multiple Listing Types (MLT) module in Mobile App has Four Views available: Map, List, Grid and Matrix
b. Admin can set any two View Types (One will be default and other as secondary) in the app from the available four views
c. Views can be configured from “Admin” > “Plugin” > “SEAO - Android Mobile App” > “Multiple Listing Type Layout” section
d. There will be a Toggle Button in App Header to switch between the available view types
12. Display Restriction Messages at required actions
a. When a member tries to upload Photo / Video / Music etc. from the Status Box and the file exceeds allowed / remaining “Storage Quota” of account, then a message indicating them to free the Account Storage will be displayed
b. Similarly, if a member tries to upload Media File from Status Box which is greater than the allowed size for a single file (can be managed using variable “upload_max_filesize” from Server Side), then a required message will be displayed
13. Others
a. Full Compatibility with White Theme of App: Button Color across the app can now have a separate color to avoid visibility issues because of white theme
b. Improvements in "Forgot Password" Pop-up
c. Minor Bug Fixes across the app
