You share your concerns with us and we come up with solutions. This is how we work for our clients. We have opted a different medium to send Push Notifications for the iOS Mobile App for SocialEngine and now, Push Notifications are sent and received to the user immediately, without any delay.
Important Points before you upgrade your iOS App:
1. Enable Force Upgrade:
Affect: Once you upgrade your iOS App on iTunes to the latest version, your app users should upgrade the app to the latest version to avoid discontinuation of Push Notifications.
How to do it: A few weeks back we implemented Force Upgrade Feature in the iOS App, that you can enable from “Admin” > “Plugins” > “SEAO - iOS Mobile App” > “Global Settings” > “Force Upgrade”:
a. Enable Force Upgrade with required Key Notes
b. Write down the App Version live in App Store
c. Save the changes
After enabling the Force Upgrade Feature, App access will be restricted and users will need to upgrade the app to the latest version.
Note: You can simply contact our Support Team and request them to enable force upgrade with the required version for Push Notifications to work fine for all users.
2. Add an Announcement:
If you have not got your app upgraded from us from a long time and it doesn’t include Force Upgrade Feature, then alternatively you can add an Announcement from “Admin” > “Plugins” > “SEAO - Advanced Activity Feeds” > “Manage Greetings / Announcements” with the required message encouraging your app users to upgrade the app to the latest version. The announcement once added from Admin Panel will be displayed at Home Page in the app that will catch every active user’s attention.
