With the holidays season just around the corner, we're glad to bring to you some useful enhancements in the "Stores / Marketplace - Ecommerce Plugin". The increment in online shopping around holidays along with these new features in our plugin will give your sales a big boost. There have been many enhancements in this plugin since the last update. We have been working on Configurable and Virtual Products lately to bring out some great functionalities for your website and make it an even better ecommerce platform. We have done new work in "Global Settings", "Product Dashboard", "Product View Page" & "Store Dashboard":

 

New functionalities developed in Global Settings:

 

1. Setting for VAT Inclusive pricing of products: You can provide a setting in Store Dashboard to store owners using which they will choose if they want to enter Basic Price for their products, or VAT Inclusive Price.

 

2. Setting for Price Display of products: You can provide a setting in Store Dashboard to store owners using which they will choose if they want Basic Price or VAT Inclusive Price to be displayed for their products at various places.

 

3. Product Attributes: In case of configurable / virtual products, Custom Fields of "Select Box" type created by Site Admin appear as default Product Attributes in Product Dashboard to the store owners. Store owners can remove these, or create their own product attributes (Color, Size, Gift Packing, etc).
Product attributes can be created of various form field types like Select Box, Radio Button, Checkbox, etc.
For non-select-box type product attributes, for each attribute value, store owner can specify price increment / decrement from base price of product.
Select-box type attributes are available for creation of Product Variations.

 

4. Product Variations: Product Variations can be created as combinations of Product Attributes of "Select Box" type. These are the variations in which a product is available, like: for a particular shirt, there can be a variation like "Color: Red", "Size: Medium" with 30 Quantity.
If there is an attribute on which variation needs to be created, then that attribute can be made of "Select Box" type.
For each variation, the available quantity and price increment / decrement from base price of product can be specified. Price variation can also be related to select-box type attributes.

[Note: Product variations can be enabled / disabled by admin. Also, product variations are available only if your store enables creation of virtual / configurable products.]

 

For a product, once the quantities of its variations are entered, the system intelligently checks that their sum is less than the total inventory of the product. Available quantities of the variations are also maintained as the product gets sold.

 

Product Variations and non-select-box type Product Attributes are available to buyers for choosing on product view page and quick view while adding to cart.

 

5. Email Alerts for new Store creation: Email notification alerts can now be sent to desired admin configured email IDs whenever a new store is created in the marketplace. Enables easy monitoring and approval of new Stores on the site.

 

New functionalities developed in Product Dashboard, Product View Page & Store Dashboard:

 

1. If you have enabled VAT for your stores then store admins will be able to configure VAT for their products from the Store Dashboard under "Taxes" section. Store owners also can choose whether:

•   a)  They want to enter product price as its Basic Price (excluding VAT), or the VAT Inclusive Price on product create / edit page. [This setting will be visible only if you have enabled “VAT Inclusive Pricing” from the Global Settings of "Products".]
•   b)  They want to display the Basic Price (Excluding VAT) or the VAT Inclusive Price for their products at various places? [This setting will be visible only if you have enabled “Price Display wrt VAT” from the Global Settings of "Products".]

 

2. Store admins will now be able to create Product Attributes like size, color, etc for configurable / virtual products from the “Product Attributes” tab available on Product Dashboard.

 

They will be able to create Product Attributes with the following steps:

 

•   a)  Go to the "Product Attributes" section of the product dashboard of the product for which they want to create attributes.
•   b)  Use “Add Product Attribute” link to create a new attribute. Any of these attribute types can be chosen: Multi Checkbox, Radio Button, Single Checkbox, Select Box, Multi Select Box . Select Box type attributes are available for creating Product Variations. Other attributes are available to buyers for selection on the product profile page.
•   c)  Add attribute label, description and choose price increment / decrement value. Then click on "Save Attribute". Now create choices by using edit choices link.

[Note: Product Attributes will only be available for configurable / virtual products. To enable easy creation of attributes, Site Admin can create select box type custom fields for products based on their categories. These are then available as default attributes for products, and can be edited / deleted by store admins.]

 

3. Product Variations: As described above, store owners can also create variations for their configurable / virtual products using select box type product attributes from the "Product Variations" section of their Product Dashboard.

 

They will be able to create Product Variations with the following steps:

 

•   a)  Go to the "Product Variations" section of the product dashboard of the product for which they want to create variations. Here, the product attributes of “Select Box” type will be available for creation of variations.
•   b)  New variations can be created using "Create Variations" link.
•   c)  Choose attribute values for this variations, and enter increment / decrement price & quantity of the variation. Click on "Save Variation".

 

4. Tabs on Product Dashboard can now be managed by Site Admin from the "Menu Editor" in admin panel. You will be able to enable, disable, re-name and re-order tabs of product dashboard as per your requirement.

 

5. Buyers will now be able to enter desired quantity of a product while adding it to cart from its view page & quick view.

 

Note: To get these enhancements on your website, please upgrade this plugin on your site to its latest version available in your SocialEngineAddOns Client Area.
